Der Sourcecode des Nintendo DS Emulator DSEmu wurde aktualisiert. Es gibt ein Download vom aktuellen Sourcecode auf der DSEmu homepage.
The Nintendo DS Emulator DSEmu has been updated.
It´s been a while again, I know. The truth is, I´ve not so much been busy as idle, not doing a great deal. I have been thinking a little though, about the direction to go with this project. From here, there´s two major roads to take: dynamic recompilation, or graphical output. I´m not a very good person with graphics, so I´m hoping to hand that on to someone who´s more interested and more willing to work on the GPU. Meanwhile, it´s dynarec time.
As of today´s build, you can select between a dispatch function for the ARM7 that plain interprets, or one that interprets and picks up block starting and ending addresses. At the moment, there´s a //TODO: black magic around the point where the translation would actually occur, and that may not be filled for some time yet.
Of course, not actually being a dynarec yet, the determination of blocks impacts a little on the performance. On my development box, Copperbars drops about 10% of its fps; afire does a little better, dropping perhaps 5%. Anyway, that loss is academic, since the recompilation will more than pick it up (hopefully).
In other news, I decided that the Emulation Programming Tutorial has been sitting on stagnant code for too long. Almost everything about the codebase has changed since the tutorial was written, and it´s fully obsolete now. So I´ve embarked on a second iteration, and you can find that at the link I just put above.
As ever, the code for today´s build is at the below link. Nothing much has changed, apart from the new dispatch.
